Allah says in the Quran: Say, “Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector.” And upon Allah let the believers rely.” Quran: Surat At-Tawbah [9:51]

Slaughterhouses: The Abomination
Linda McCartney, an animal rights activist, once said, “If slaughterhouses had glass
walls, everyone in the world would be a vegetarian.” In other words, if everyone in the world witnessed the horrors that are performed in slaughterhouses, no one would want to support them.
Violence in slaughterhouses is an inhuman practice that puts innocent animals through dreadful conditions from the beginning of their life to their murder. According to Animal Rights Actions, as soon as chicks are born they are accepted or rejected; rejected chicks are placed on a conveyor belt and into a grinder that grinds them up alive to dispose of them (sometimes they’re suffocated instead). From there the accepted chicks are forced into confined disease ridden spaces until they are ready for slaughter.
In addition, it is almost unheard of for factory farmed animals to receive any sort of veterinary help, simply because it costs too much. The industry couldn’t possibly spend so much money to ensure the good health of animals that are in line to be butchered and sold to the public. Several animals die every year due to inadequate care and are unable to be used.
Ninety seven percent of ten billion animals are tortured and killed annually (Factory Farming). In factory farms, animals are not seen as individuals, they are seen as a product to be massacred and sold. The organization, Last Chance for Animals (LCA) says, “Since the animals are seen as mere commodities, they are bred, fed, confined, and drugged to lay more eggs, birth more offspring, and die with more meat on their bones.” The objectification of the animals results in barbaric treatment, merely for profit.
Animals feel pain just like humans do. Physical and emotional. The World Small Veterinary Association introduced the Global Pain Council to raise awareness of pain in animals. They feel every cut; every moment of discomfort; every overwhelming feeling of terror; everything and anything a human would have felt, had they been forced into that environment. It’s just the same for an animal as it is for a human seeing as humans are animals.
Veal calves are one example of animals that are put through some of the most merciless pain. They’ll never see the sun, feel the sunshine, or taste the grass because they are ripped away from their mothers and forced into wooden crates the moment they are born. LCA, says “They are deliberately kept anemic and their muscles are kept atrophied so that their flesh will be pale and tender.” In other words, the veal calves are kept paralyzed and aren’t given the iron and fiber they need to grow. This results in their flesh having the desired paleness and tenderness, but at a appalling price. At sixteen weeks when they are ready to be butchered it’s common for them to be too sick or immobilized to walk.
A common thought among meat and dairy consumers is that factory farms take steps to ensure that animals in line for butcher are unconscious, and the process is even painless. This is a lie. From the moment the animals step foot into the slaughterhouse they are prodded, pushed, kicked, and beaten. Before any of the real suffering begins, they are stunned, which is intended to render the animal unconscious. However, an estimated 40% of the stunned animals are still conscious and feel every moment of agonizing torture. Even if they are successfully stunned, they still feel the pain of having a maximum of 125 volts surging through their body.
In addition, it is common belief that eggs and milk products are gathered in a humane fashion. However, consumers that believe this fib are in for a horrendous surprise. Cows, just like other mammals, need to give birth in order to produce milk, this results in the cattle being forcibly impregnated until they are too physically traumatized to continue. On average, they are forced to produce 10 times more milk than they would naturally. It’s the same for the hens that are kept reveled to light at all times so they produce more eggs. At the end of their laying cycle they are slaughtered, or subjected to forced molting: a procedure where they are forced into darkness and are starved for up to 18 days. This appalling method shocks and stresses the hens to such an extent that they start another laying cycle (Factory Farming).
Slaughterhouses are an abomination. They commit some of the most atrocious crimes that mankind has ever overlooked; most people don’t even think twice about what it takes to get that delicious steak, or bacon, or even sushi. That delectable steak? That’s a cow that was mercilessly murdered for its flesh. That scrumptious bacon? That’s a pig that was boiled alive. That irresistible sushi? That’s a fish that was forcibly given drugs, chemicals, and herbicides. It is not an animal’s destiny to be slaughtered and turned into food. They are living, breathing creatures and deserved to be treated as such.
